Beano

How funny! Just yesterday I was reading my 1984 Beano Yearbook for the first time in 24 years (trying to kill some spare time). I was laughing and laughing at the gags which would never get past tough new censorship regulations.

Today, shopping in Wimbledon, I saw the 2008 hardback edition (I had no idea they still published it) reduced from £7.50 to £1! How could I turn in down?

What a sad book its become (thanks to the aforementioned censorship regulations), no wonder they sold it for £2 in 1984 and now, in 2008, it can be had for £1.

Hi Matt,

My grandparents used to send me the Beano and Dandy for Christmas every year. Very funny. I don't know about the censorship thing, but I guess the comics need to get creative if they want to remain funny. Scott L
