Lentil As Anything

I ate dinner tonight at 'Lentil As Anything' in Abbotsford; a new concept in restaurants where you pay only what you can afford or as much as you think the meal is worth. If you decide to pay, you drop money anonymously into a slot on your way out. It's all vegetarian...... and organic of course!

Lentil As Anything describe themselves as; "a social experiment that encourages people to have an internal conversation with their conscience and their own ethics", they work to "nurture compassion, individuality and artistic expression" and they invite us to "be part of the revolution".

There I was thinking I was just eating a flaming curry. In reality I was actively helping subvert the values that the Howard government has worked so hard to instill into all Australians; greed, consumerism, economic rationalism and mindless conformity.

I can't wait 'till they open one of these joints in central London!

How much did I pay? How much should I have paid? Dinner for 3 including 3 main meals, 3 organic juice drinks, 3 very small pieces of cake and two half stoned blokes performing live 'music'.

Sounds like a Mastercard ad: "priceless".

Was the curry really hot, or were you doing an Alf Stewart?

I reckon the place'd go broke if their customers were all Chinese! (I can throw stones at my own house, being a Stingey Chinese myself) Good thing for them, Chinese like meat...
