Whilst on the topic political documentaries, a few months ago I read about Michael Moore's soon to be launched latest offering; Sicko. I couldn't stop laughing.
The argument goes like this: people in the US have awful health care unless they're wealthy, meanwhile the lucky citizens of Canada, UK and France, with nationalised services get world class health care - regardless of their bank balances.
My card carrying, lefty, Guardian reading pals who, like me, despise almost everything about the NHS and every experience they've ever had of it are now are now stuck. Their first hand experience again and again says that Michael Moore is so blatantly twisting the truth he is lying. Hmmm, if he tells fibs in this film......I wonder about Fahrenheit 9/11.
This film, or at least it's polemic will flop in the UK. People who see it in the US will long wistfully for the NHS.
Mr Moore.....he will laugh all the way to the bank.
