Was when LJH became PM. I remember it well, not 'caus I'm a LJH boffin, but because it was the night of my 21st birthday party. I didn't particularly have an interest in who won then (I was a tax payer funded student not having to graft hard to feed a family of four!) but it was said that the voters were waiting for PK with baseball bats because of his arrogance, the interest rates, the 'recession we had to have' and his disregard for the common person.
Now voters are waiting for LJH with baseball bats - but they're not really sure why! Times are so good and just 3 years ago he got the strongest mandate in a generation from the Australian people.
Now enough of my rant. How were things different before LJH was PM?
- I was renting a 3 bedroom flat in Hawthorn with Warwick, $135 pw.
- I was in my final year of University, my brother Simon was a horticultural technologist for the Ringwood council, my brother Ben was at TAFE and my sister was still at school (I'm happy to be corrected on any of these).
- I was special friends with Christina, I'd only met Anna once.
- I'd never sent an email (I think this came a couple of months later).
- I had fairly recently become a Christian.
- All of my grandparents were still alive.
- Lucy the dog was six.
- 13/1/2001, 11/9/2001, and 10/10/2007 hadn't happened.
- I was going to conquer the world.
- I reckon there's about a 50% chance I hadn't met you, Mr or Mrs Blog Reader.
