Saturday will show if Australia is good or evil

The Age is getting all self righteous about the election and starting to get really, really heavy with moral language Australia has lost its moral compass under Howard's rule and Australians have a chance to prove they're not all that bad. It's simple mister reader; a vote for Mr Rudd shows you're a good person, a vote for LJH proves that you're bad and you've lost your moral compass.

At the last Federal election The Age took the line that Howard voters were stupid - they simply hadn't the intellectual capability to deconstruct the conservative ideas and spin (and elect Mark Latham as PM - ha!). I remember an opinion piece the day after the polling bemoaning the state of education in Australia, it argued that schools mustn't have taught (indoctrinated) well enough, John Howard's record election victory was surely evidence of that!

It's a pretty standard ploy of the worst leftist factions in Australia to portray conservatives as either stupid or evil, that way you don't have to engage their ideas.

Quadrant puts some of its content online, this excellent article by Tom Switzer won't be for everyone, it's heavy and dry but it expresses as well as anything why I voted for LJH and why I think he's been a good PM.
