I had a letter published in The Age today. I was doing my bit for LJH in response to an article attacking his good name. The trouble was, by the time The Age had edited my letter, which was a hopelessly right wing rant, it sounded almost left wing!
Here's what they printed (with apologies to Hugh Evans' disciples):
Both parties at fault
I'M confused by Hugh Evans' logic in condemning John Howard's target of 0.36 per cent of gross national income for foreign aid and praising Prime Minister Gordon Brown for Britain's aid, which is scarcely over 0.4 per cent. When it comes to poverty, Mr Brown is strong on rhetoric, but unfortunately rhetoric doesn't save lives. Surely a man in Evans' position should be critical of the Coalition and Labor, who both fail to commit Australia to the 0.7 per cent target agreed to in the UN's Millennium Development Goals.

So how was it different to what you actually wrote?
